Have you been building up the urge to dance around your apartment while under a shelter in place order? You’re in luck, because our newest all-digital release is Hair Perfect’s “Amazing Relax” EP.
“Amazing Relax” is synthy, funky, post-punky, non-dance dance music. Like a vaporwave album, there are moments of synthe-nostalgia, but these are real songs, with real hooks.
If R. Stevie Moore spent his adolescence listening to the funkier Orange Juice tracks or if the Happy Mondays just didn’t indulge in mind-altering substance-filled psychedelia, then you’d get a glimpse into the world of Hair Perfect.
Hair Perfect have been putting together their unique blend of electronic music and post-punk guitar lines for the last six years. Originally a 3-piece, the band has mostly existed as a duo of Alex Machock and Goyo Paguaga. Alex on vocals/synths and Goyo on guitar - both seem to share the sequencer duties. Their early recordings are a blend of funky garage-rock, but recently the sound evolved into a more precise, cleaned-up, dance-balladry.
